MagneGas Flow Recycling

Summary

MAGNEGAS Flow Recycling is a revolutionary new technology to convert waste into water and fuel. Waste can be sewage, biosolids, plastics, industrial waste, household waste etc. and the by-products are sterile water, coal and car fuel. There are serious possibilities to utilise this as a “clean coal technology” component.

The technology has been developed over the last decade and is commercial ready with a limited number of commercial installations in the US, Ireland, France and the USSR.

The technology is based on research initiated by the Carter administration in the 1980 to explore the possibilities of alternative fuels. Research has been carried out since then by dr Ruggero Santilli, Nobel price nominee and renowned scientist. 

The basis of the process is a submerged arc where waste flows through under continuous operation. This has the effect of completely carbonising the waste and splitting it into the components of water, coal, heat and gas.

Though the process produces gas and heat, it is not self-sustainable, ie needs energy to operate. The commercial value of the products though exceeds costs by factors.

Currently, USMagneFuels, Inc. has the exclusive rights on the Magnegas Technology for the American Continent; an Israeli company has the exclusive rights in that country; and an Italian company has the exclusive rights of the technology for the European Community.

ECOsmart-AustralAsia introduces this technology in Australia and New Zealand and is part of the sole licensee MagneGas-AustralAsia.

Products & Services

The main markets are identified as

  • municipal waste water treatment plants to recycle raw effluent and biosolids
  • smaller community treatment plants like hotels, resorts, cruiseships
  • specialised industrial applications for difficult to dispose of substances
  • coal-powered powerplants to reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses
  • coal-powered powerplants to utilise low-grade coal

                                

The primary push is to provide a solution for councils, businesses and parties who have to deal with pollution and waste processing.

By-products

However the by-products are produced in considerable quantities : A simple recycler for a 300 room hotel or resort will produce about 34,000 Liters/24 h of biogas corresponding to about 226 litres petrol plus completely sterilized, treated and filtered water in a volume of about 95% of the daily flow.

The water can be used for irrigation or as it still contains all the nutrients it basically is a liquid fertiliser. The gas can be utilised straight as fuel in gas-powered cars and will be an interesting product for fleet owners and bus companies as they use natural gas already.

An interesting side aspect of this particular form of fuel is that it burns much cleaner than any other type of fuel and actually releases oxygen into the atmosphere. Furthermore the emissions of vehicles running on this fuel more than comply to the strictest EPA limits and standards.
